The High Constables of the City of Edinburgh were founded in 1611 and Deirdre Kinloch Anderson was elected as the first lady member to join the Society in 1998.
Day 10 and the “Edinburgh Inspiring Capital” Yacht arrive in Madeira. As part of the crew, Sue Gyford (a journalist for the Evening News) recalls that moment:
Sunday 31st July and they were off in their full kilted glory – the “Edinburgh Inspiring Capital” yacht with Skipper Gordon Reid in control together with his excited crew of 17 supporters.
Kinloch Anderson are supporting the City of Edinburgh who are entering the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2011 /2012 with their ‘Edinburgh Inspiring Capital’ yacht crewed by a team of 52 people.
The Kinloch Anderson Group enjoyed meeting Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Ford, Comptroller, Lord Chamberlain’s Office, who was the Guest Speaker at the Edinburgh Royal Warrant Holders’ Dinner held at the Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh on 13th October this year.
This year we were delighted again to be chosen to supply the Parade Uniforms for Team Scotland at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. They will be wearing kilts and kilted skirts in the distinctive Commonwealth Games Tartan.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is one of the most spectacular shows in the world and this year Kinloch Anderson were delighted and proud to be asked to sponsor the Highland Dancers.
In August 2010 to coincide with the festival and many Cruise ships arriving – Kinloch Anderson were invited to display their Highland Outfits in Ocean Terminal on Edinburgh’s waterfront.
The Scottish Tourist Guides Association tartan has been exclusively designed by Kinloch Anderson to commemorate the STGA’s 50th Anniversary in 2009. It was launched in April 2010 with an evening reception at Kinloch Anderson attended by many of the Tour Guides
Many of the 50,000 people who attended the event over the two days came to our Stand in the Arts and Crafts Village to find their own tartans amidst our abundance of tartan pattern bunches.
Promoted as the “Greatest Ever Celebration of Scottish Culture” Kinloch Anderson are proud to be involved as a Patron to Scotland’s largest ever Highland Games.
