Our Supply Chain

As we craft part of our products in our Edinburgh factory, our supply chain is relatively limited. We procure packaging, goods, and raw materials mostly made in the UK.  Some raw materials are sourced from worldwide destinations. All our suppliers are well-established businesses who employ their mechanisms for guarding against modern slavery.

We are aware of the importance of our raw material supply chain and the sustainability of our suppliers. Hence, we purchase our raw materials from a small number of partners that we have worked with for many years. Our goal is to ensure our materials are fully traceable by prioritising collaborations with certified sources who value high welfare standards.

Employment & Working Time Regulations

We believe in equal opportunities, living wage and personal development. Thus, we are committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful work environment for our staff.

Our recruitment and people management processes are fair, transparent. and fully compliant with all current legal requirements. Employment ensures that all prospective employees have the right to work in the UK, and it also safeguards employees from any abuse or coercion once in our team.

We continually ensure that we remain compliant with the Working Time Regulations (1998) by regularly monitoring working time via timesheets and the supervision of staff.

Actions Taken

To ensure modern slavery & human trafficking are not taking place, we have:

  • Made all staff aware of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and informed them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.
  • Developed a staff awareness strategy for the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reporting mechanisms if a member of staff suspects a case of slavery or human trafficking.
  • Sought assurances that processes are in place to manage the risk with regards to our business partners and subcontractors.

Future Steps

As part of our future plans, we will:

  • Continue to raise awareness of modern slavery within our company by reviewing and evaluating the measures and processes that we have implemented so far to ensure their effectiveness.
  • We will work with our suppliers and review our processes with our delivery partners to identify any additional measures we can take as a business to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Make information available to businesses to inform them of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.
  • Review and update all the policies and contractual controls mentioned above to protect our employers.

Policy Breaches

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.

We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
