Scottish Tourist Guides Association

The tartan was commissioned by Margaret McLeod, Chair of the Scottish Tourist Guide Association, in August 2009 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Association in 2010. The sett chosen as the basis for the design was the sett of the City of Edinburgh tartan. The colours selected to represent the Scottish Tourist Guide Association are as follows: blue and silver taken from the Scottish Tourist Guide Association badges, green to represent the landscape of Scotland and purple for the Scottish heather, white is also used - placed specifically to run through the blue to reflect the image of the Saltire.
