Buccleuch

Badge: A stag trippant
Latin Motto: Amo (I love)
The Buccleuch tartan is normally called the Buccleugh check after a village in the Borders of Scotland which is the seat of the Duke of Buccleugh, who is the largest landowner in Scotland.

His family / clan is that of the  Scotts for which there are  tartans. This design was created by the Colonel of the 4th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borders in 1908. It was used by their pipers. Earl Haig's family adopted it as he was Colonel of the batalion. It has come to be used by those families with the Haig name.
