Bell of the Borders

Old French: Bel
Badge: A hand holding a dagger
Scots Motto: I beir the bel
The name Bell was common on the Scotish Border for centuries and the Belles are included in the 1587 list of unruly clans in the West Marches. There are others of this name who are of Highland origin, and in that case, Bell is held to be a Sept of MacMillan so could use their tartans. The Bell of the Borders tartan was designed in the 1990s but is accepted by the clan.
