The Abercrombie tartan was derived from the Barony of Abercrombie in Fife. William de Abercromby's allegiance to Edward I is found in the Ragman Rolls (1239-1307).The tartan was first described in James Logan's “The Scottish Gael or Celtic Manners, as Preserved among the Highlanders” 1831.
