The Sundial Tartan celebrates the restoration by the Kinloch Anderson Company and family, of a majestic sundial, donated by Councillor W. Joseph Kinloch Anderson to Inverleith Park, Edinburgh in 1890.
The tartan sett is based on the Clan Anderson tartan to which the family belongs. Each of the colours has special significance: sandstone for the colour of the sundial, green for Inverlieth Park, blue for the Water of Leith beside which the company is located, three gold lines for the three Royal Warrants of Appointment as Tailors and Kiltmakers to The Royal Family and six fine burgundy red lines for the six generations of the company’s family ownership and management.
