During his illustrious career, Kosei Inoue won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was World Champion three times and won the All-Japan championships four times. Having retired in 2008, Kosei and his wife Aki Higashihara, have come to Edinburgh for a six-month stay resulting in a Sky News item on how Kosei was able to walk freely in Edinburgh compared to being constantly recognised by his fans in Tokyo. Sky approached us about filming in our shop in Leith and we were delighted to present Kosei with a full Highland Dress outfit and Aki with a luxury silk and velvet stole for their visit to Edinburgh Castle. The visit celebrated the long standing links which Kinloch Anderson have with Japan and its people.
