Designed in Scotland. Inspired by nature.

The beautiful, rugged natural environment of Scotland has been a never-ending source of inspiration for clothing designers for centuries. From the vibrant explosions of colour in Autumn, to the deep monochromatic skies of Winter, Scottish surroundings beckon creativity and innovation with every change of the season.

Every tartan tells its own story, and it's human nature to enjoy the act of storytelling.

We tell ourselves stories to feel safe. Don’t wander through the woods because people get lost in there. We tell ourselves stories to create a greater sense of self. My favourite colour is green. We even tell ourselves stories to solidify a sense of belonging. Remember that time we all went for dinner on the beach? Stories have become part and parcel of everyday speech, but the stories held in the great Scottish vistas are ones of even greater depth.

From the coastal blue tones woven into Lachaber, paying homage to the area's scenic waters, to the delicate earthy colours of Hebridean Glisk, there is a rich depth of meaning and association intertwined into every piece of cloth produced by tartan designers around the world, but most especially in Scotland.

Perhaps staying home this summer has caused you to more greatly appreciate your own local surroundings. Exploring our own backdoors can help us forge deeper connections with the environment, something our tartan design team seek to do with every commissioned piece we undertake.

This thoughtful approach to tartan design is by no means a modern notion. Rather, it has been the tradition for centuries and we merely seek to carry it on with our own legacy and reputation for quality.

Why? Because when tartans and tweeds are designed by those who have a true appreciation for the environment from which the materials come, and understand the history behind each geographic area, the result is a premium product that tells a story ready to passed down through the generations.
