Tartan ties are available in many clan tartans. A plain coloured tie (not tartan) is worn with the kilt for daywear and semi formal wear. For weddings a grey silk tie is normally worn. A black bow tie is the norm for evening wear but other colours may be worn. A white bow tie is never worn with Highland Dress.
